In the 2007, the ‘artist’ Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, he tied him to a rope in an art gallery, starving him to death.

For several days, the ‘artist’ and the visitors of the exhibition have watched emotionless the shameful ‘masterpiece’ based on the dog’s agony, until eventually he died.

Does it look like art to you?

But this is not all … the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American decided that the ‘installation’ was actually art, so that Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the biennial of 2008.

Let’s STOP HIM!!!!!

I’ve signed it. not knowing if it’s 100% real or not, I rather not lor… do you want to allow such cruel and selfish history to repeat again? I certainly hope not!

##UPDATES##

Suspect it’s all a hoax? I google-ed online.. and found the below.

He refused to say whether the dog survived the show but the director of the Códice Gallery said that the animal was fed regularly and was only tied up for three hours on one day before it escaped.” – quoted from Wikipedia

It has now emerged, however, that artist Guillermo Habacuc Vargas intended the work to be a stunt to show how a starving dog suddenly becomes the centre of attention when it is in a gallery, but not when it is on the street.

Juanita Bermúdez, director of the Codex Gallery, stated that she would not have allowed the dog to be mistreated, that it ate and drank regularly, and that it was allowed to escape back to the streets from where it was taken at the end of the exhibit. “It is conceptual art and a work that leaves a social message”, she said.” – quoted from Extraordinary Pet Blog
