I listed a few options for Pail to pick, and he picked the exact one I had in my mind too.. haha! French!!!! Hmmmmm, but French Fine Dining, not out style.. so Cocotte was my choice!!! Heh… I like how they introduced themselves on their website. “…Cocotte serves up unpretentious, rustic French cuisine in a casual and comfortable setting. “ and if you are interested to go too, it’s sitting in a corner of Little India, at Wanderlust Hotel. =D
You can tour the place in one glance..
Walking over to the bar area, there’s a table soccer game. It was free to play, we had a few games until the ball got stuck and never got out again.. then we walk back to our table. Dunno if Pail had enjoyed as much me or not.. but I had lotsa fun. =p
Enjoying starters while waiting for our food to be served.. Fried Tripe wasn’t as good as people have raved about wor.. their bread was also quite hard and tough to bite.
Main course served! I ordered their signature dish “Roast Pork Collar” (cooked in a creamy Dijon mustard sauce, served w/ brussel sprouts amandine, garlic potatoes & forest mushrooms)
…while Pail had “Boeuf bourguignon” (grass fed beef marinated overnight & braised in red wine, served w/ sauteed mushrooms, pearlonions & roast baby potatoes).. overall, YUMMY!! Next time, we wanna bring more friends to try out their “Poulet Roti” (whole hormone-free chicken for two-three pax but I think can be four-five pax! Marinated for 2 days & roasted w/ fresh herb butter, served w/ gravy roast baby potatoes & spring vegetables)
The birthday “boy” gets to make a wish, blow the candles and eat the cake!! =D
After food, we popped over to the Gotham City of Singapore for some drinks. OMG, It’s soooo COOL in there!! Drinks aren’t too expensive, quiet and cosy, yet there’s a piano bar with bossa nova live singing.. gosh, love it.
We promised and agreed that we shall save some money this year for our wedding and honeymoon, so no presents!! But I still did a lil’ card for Pail.. heeee.. nope, I’m not publishing it here cos Pail doesn’t wanna publish it!
