Happy Anniversary [III]

Warning: This is a very picture-intensive entry!!

Pail made the plans for our celebration and kept it in the dark for some time. Haha! Until a couple of days before the actual day, I had to keep asking him.. “What am I going to wear for the day?” Then he couldn’t keep the suspense anymore.. heee.. we are going to the Universal Studios and a night stay at Hard Rock Hotel! WOOHOOOO!!!

I think and think.. stared and stared at my messy wardrobe…. OK! Settled! This is going to be my look on the day~~~~ I even did my own manicure at home. I ought to give some credit to the Ettusais Top Coat, it’s damn good, and Shiseido Maquillage Mini bottles are pretty easy to apply! But pardon my old wrinkled fingers lah.. =/

We checked in to the hotel to place our “luggages” before we made our way out for more fun! Hehehe… I love my SR cap lah, it’s my best friend when I am having minimal makeup, facing a very strong sun! Dunno why, we just felt like we’re going on a vacation, just that it’s a vacation without carrying our passports. 🙂

Marley was here too!! ^-^

Walking in the Universal Studios theme park, I recalled the feeling I had in Disneyland Hong Kong. I got excited seeing Madagascar and hearing their song!! Hahahaha.. I’m such a kid in theme parks~ afraid of taking rides, only enjoying taking pictures with the mascots!!

Entering the Far Faraway land.. beware of orges!

The only roller coaster ride I had was the junior one.. Enchanted Airways. Haha.. And we also watched the 17 minutes Shrek 4-D Adventure film where Shrek is going to save Princess Fiona. Hey it’s my first time watching 4D movie, so fun!! Through the miracle of OgreVision, the chair moves like you are riding on horses, and you get splashed with water, and your feet get swept by “creatures”~~ Haaa..

At The Lost World, Jurassic Park, they had this Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, with no pictures/videos of how it’s exactly like at the entrance. Only as we queued, we saw people started to equip themselves with raincoats, we realised, oh no, we are gonna get drenched and soaked, but not many people are with raincoats, so we checked with the staff, and they said “Yes, you are going to get totally soaked.” OK, it’s not our last stop, we didn’t came prepared for this, we had to back out then. Sigh.

Entering the mysterious Ancient Egypt.. they built a maze as you walked in.. it’s actually meant to accomodate long queues lah. Haha.. at the Revenge of the Mummy, the warnings on wall said it is a high-speed psychological thrill ride with sharp turns and fast reverse sections, as it pits guests against fireballs, scarab beetles and robotic warrior mummies — all in total darkness.. not suggested for weak hearts. Call me “SULA WU”, yes, I backed out, and pushed Pail to go on his own. Hahahaa.. I didn’t like the Ancient Egypt, walking out of the man-made dark maze alone didn’t feel good. =p

There was also the Sci-Fi City… here they actually suspended the rather exciting looking Battlestar Galactica: CYLON Vs HUMAN ride. I think they are opening Transformers Ride in 2011.. guess it’s gonna be another big hit because it is set to premiere in Singapore, then in Universal Studios Hollywood shortly after.

Ok, I love Hollywood Boulevard the most. No roller coasters here! HAha! Just enjoy being a fake tourist and lotsa photo-taking~~ look who we bumped into~ Kungfu Panda!!! :p

Starving by now, we shared a huge Turkey drumstick. You know, how goooood it feels to be sitting on a bench in Hollywood, biting a turkey drumstick? lol..

Shiok!!!!

Oh… here is 桶工头~~ and 巫婆漪. 😀

Alrighty, we don’t look like owners of the cars at all. ~_~

But we do look a tiny bit like bosses waiting to have our shoes polished!

Honestly, I tried to find somethin to buy from Victoria’s Secret, but so disappointed, I failed. Instead, I found more things at Hershey’s! Hahaa.. let’s do some “I was here” shots like everyone else.

From Hershey’s, Pail spotted Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.. comes in miny and big cups. It’s yummmmmmey!!!!! We were so surprised by the wonderful taste, a bit salty peanut butter yet keeping its chocolate sweetness. We finished the chocolates on the first night, and went back for more to bring back to.. Singapore. 😀

Ok ok.. back at hotel. What do we do? Hehh…. eh-hem… errrr…..

*clears throat*

Mmmmm………

We attempted the new popular BED JUMP SHOTS. LOL!!!! Had a whole lotsa fun jumping and laughing!! It’s our first attempt, the best we could capture already, 35mm lens really wasn’t suitable for capturing jumpshots lah.. hehee..

Before we know it, it’s DINNER TIME!!!! Pail had arranged a reservation at kunio tokuoka (Crockfords Tower, Level 2) Fine Dining, serving Japanese haute and the traditional ‘Kaiseki Cuisine’ here. Chef-Owner Kunio Tokuoka is a leading culinary maestro in Japan, four-Michelin-starred in Osaka & Kyoto 2009. He decided his whole concept of the new restaurant in Singapore to be RIMPA(琳派), meaning ‘tradition and innovation’.

..The Rimpa, a school of Japanese painting, which dates from the early years of Japan’s Edo period (1603 to 1868), is characterized by bold compositions using gold and silver leaf. The changing of Japanese seasonal nature such as sea, wind, moon, rain, flowers and trees were painted as main motifs….

Not many tables in there, they had a very romantic and quiet ambience, a waiter/waitress will be serving solely one table each. Being a toad in the well, I certainly can count my fine dining experience encounters with five fingers.. my DSLR shutter sounds definitely out of place in there, but the waiters are polite enough and they didn’t stop me from taking pictures lah..

After much said, you can imagine the prices, right?

As chim as they may sound, a bottle of mineral water is called Izu no Tennensui, SGD$15
.. and two starters on complimentary.. I don’t know what are they but they are GOOOOD!

A plate of assorted Sashimi.. we lovvvved their Sea urchin. Drooolz.
SGD$150

A plate of assorted Tempura..
SGD$100

My Unagi Eel Rice Bowl, the tastiest rice bowl I’ve had in my life.. oh look at the egg. Yumz!
SGD$70

And Pail’s Yaki Udon.. which we have never loved udon soooo much before.
SGD$50

The total bill of SGD$453.15 is magnificently.. stunning… and jaws-dropping..
吓死人啦~~~ 拍张照留念! :p

Already feeling very tired by now.. we headed back to the hotel for a good night’s rest.

But.. I was thinking.. 好不舍得睡喔,睡醒就要离开了,真不想这个假期结束~ 哈哈.. How can I not take pictures of the beautiful hotel?! Oh, I loved the king-sized bed, their toilet and their curtains.. and that cushion rest sitting by the window.. You know there is this brand of bed mattress, where you throw a bowling ball, and the pins won’t fall? We suspect their beds are using this mattress! Cos we tested, Pail sits on one side of the bed, and I dived in beside him, he doesn’t move!!! Muahahahahaa…

and oh.. lastly, loooook at the Hard Rock Hotel LIFT.. 闪闪若人爱!!!! 😀

I guess that’s why we felt like we went for a long vacation even though it’s just one night. Like I always insist, sleeping quality is verrrrrry important. The mattress, the bedsheets, the comforter, the air-con… and waking up to a hot bath. So recharged!! Hehee…. this is a wonderful weekend I will always remember.. ♥

回到现实,是时候开始我们的省钱大计了~ 加油啊!
