It was the Lunar Seventh Month of the year, (though by the time I’m blogging this, it’s already over.. haha!). Early in the morning, Dad, Bro, Pail and myself went to the Toa Payoh temple to visit my mom and grandpa.. and had a good lunch together at Toa Payoh Central 珠江烧腊. Heehe..

The day is packed with activities~! Haha…. we are having a family dinner with Pail’s family. It was his mom’s birthday. Finally get to step into 黑社会… Hohoho.. I remember Miss Irony ever said Photography was prohibited in there, so no point to bring my DSLR at all! Hahaa.. but we insist taking a picture with their famous 流沙包!! omg.. the custard is explodes like volcano lava from the bun as you peel it open.. yums!

Since we were at Vivo, we visited Daiso as usual. Time to change our chopsticks from time to time.. $2 each from Daiso. Got meaning wan hor! The blue one is Bishamonten, i.e. is worshipped as a god of prosperous fishing and business. The pink one is Benzairen, i.e. goddess of music, art and wisdom. Heh.. nice!

It has been family day so far? Not the end of the Saturday yet!

Heee.. we met up with Odin, Yan and Yun for our first attempt at Chestnuts!! Hehehe.. eh-hem.. it’s Chestnuts in 3D!!!! Muahahahaa.. Full of sacarsicm and ironic comments on the current affairs, gay pride, whatever is IN the topic, of course not leaving out what’s happening in their drama/arts circle. I just noticed I might be watching and knowing too little of Glee, 雨季 or Ris Low.. but still, Chestnuts successfully kept us laughing all night long. Perhaps, in near future, iPhone, iPad and iTouch will be totally out, and we will be expecting a new product called “iPondan” soon?! *winks*

Lastly.. I just got hold of more HeartBistro pictures from Miss Irony.. heh.. I made an attempt at hand-drawing with the mouse to frame up our group photo.. hee.. but failed, it’s verrry edgy. -.-

Also, we had lotsa fun playing with Fisheye lens.
Trying to be as ugly as possible!! 大家抛开偶像包袱吧!!! LOL!!!

Brunch at Heart Bistro

As mentioned previously, we intended to visit Heart Bistro on Odin’s birthday, but apparently, it seems like the restaurant boss has decided to celebrate National Day, so we had to postpone the visit till a week later.. Haha.. Take a look at the menu.. everythin loooked delicious and yummliciousss… and healthy! Hahaa.. I always believe the two words “healthy” and “tasty” can seldom appear with “FOOD” in the same statement..

WARNING: INTENSIVE YUMMILICIOUS PICTURES AHEAD..

Whoaa.. Chinese BOTOX. I must order that as my dessert! Dessert was decided before my main course.. it took us a lonnng time to place our orders.. hahaha..

Meanwhile, we were served with this glass of “drink”. Undoubtly, this glass of “drink” that looked like alcohol excites Yan.. Haha.. it’s actually a glass of ginger drink that I guess was supposed to be an appetiser? Coz it was served even before the starters.

For starters, we tried to order a different dish each, so that we could try everthin! Haha..

*wild mushroom + thyme emulsion

*pickled tea Leaves with ripened tomatoes + mung beans, healthy right?

And I love mine the most..
*chocolate crispies with cold milk, organic honey, mixed nuts, berries + fruits

Main course.. see? It’s mushrooms again! Haha.. this is on the ala-carte menu.
*braised cod with wild mushrooms, aged balsamic + apple grape coulis

*braised beef cheek

Odin’s pick of the day..
*steamed chicken with chinese wine, shiitake, white fungus + essence of chicken

Tonic ah! a bottle of Chicken Essence was poured into the pot in front of you after the dish was served.. Whoaaa…

Served with Brown Rice.. a healthier choice to eating rice!

*poached eggs with chicken hash + hollandaise sauce
Everytime I see POACHED EGGS and ROSTI on the menu, i couldn’t resist ordering. Haha..

*french banana pancakes with maple syrup + cinnamon

I love their pancakes too! yummy!

Dessert Time! As decided..chinese botox!!
*chilled cream of double-boiled milk with berries

*sticky date pudding with a scoop of ice-cream

*warm chocolate yoghurt brownie with a scoop of ice cream

Bottoms up! Ume on the rocks!!

If it’s an ordinary day, it would be named “annoying” having noisy airplanes and fireworks out there that you couldn’t even have a peaceful dinner, but it was National Day, and one day belated birthday of our dear friend odinChoy! Any noises out there are deemed as CELEBRATION for the day! Hahaha! For the same reason, many restaurants were either fully booked or Closed ~_~, we couldn’t go to Heart Bistro as planned… Hmmmm.. but I gotta credit odinChoy for his impressive memory, he actually remembered I ever mentioned “Shinryoku Yakitori” a couple of months back, that time I think was for Miss Irony’s birthday? Impressive rite? That’s so long ago! And there we were finally! Haha!!

Just as I thought I’m the only one who is that boliao to get carried away watching dramas/movies.. like if the actress is wearing a very nice dress, or had a very nice hairstyle, I might think I want to get the same one. Hmmmm.. but I realised, I’m not alone, my bro will buy new bags if the actor is carrying a nice bag. Hahaaaa.. and there’s just one thing that can EASILY affect me, my bro, and Pail… i.e. FOOD they cook/eat in dramas/movies. LOL!!!

We were craving over CHAR SIEW RICE and ta – da~~!

Hee.. and whenever there are new places in town, we will not hesitate to check them out!! How many of you knows about this place? It’s ALT @ Heeren. I was only telling Pail a few weeks ago, Heeren is so pathetic, they really need to open an exclusive shop here, so that the crowds will come back to them. Preferably H&M! HAhahaa.. and they really opened a new store here.. it’s a three-storey high store.. for women who are experimental enough, this is BEAUTY PARADISE!! You can find many brands of skincare/cosmetics you might not see in departmental stores, of course there are well-known ones too la.. not only they sell beauty stuffs, they sell women lingerie, pets stuffs, toys, and hats too! So far, I’ve yaya-ly brought Ruyi and Miss Irony here, and saw their surprised faces at alt@Heeren.

Dinner was at Cedele, din know they had all-day-breakfast!! Haha, but it wasn’t worth trying.. better stick to ordering their sandwiches next time! Heee.. the curry pasta wasn’t too bad though. And there’s this free pack of Berries Ice-cream flavoured Oreo given at Mcd when we ordered their new OREO milkshake.. the milkshake was OK, but the free pack of cookies…. tasted like minty-flavoured-cough-medicine. Yucks. Puis.
